Comet C2022 E3 ZTF
Comet C2022 E3 ZTF on 13/02/2023. Taken with the Skywatcher and Atik with about 20 minute per channel.

The same comet on 09/02/2023 taken with the Canon 450D at about 130mm focal length. Mars is to the lower right. Taken from Porthmadog.

Comet 2019 Y4 Atlas
At around 22:00 on 16/04/2020.
This version is 17×2 minutes stacked in Deep Sky Stacker tracking the comet.

This version is 4×10 minutes using the Comet track mode in PHD2 Guiding. Subsequently stack in AS3.

At 21:00UTC on 14/04/2020 the break up of the nucleus is much more obvious. This is stack of 30×1 minute exposures at f6.3 binned x2. Stacked in AutoStakkert with flats and darks from Deep Sky Stacker and sharpened in Reghistax. The separated nucleus fragment is now brighter than the remaining original nucleus.

This image taken on 11/04/2020 at around 22:00 shows that the nucleus has fragmented into at least 2 parts. This is a stack of 32×1 minute exposures using the Atik 314L+ binned x2 with the LX200 at f6.3 and the UV/IR cut filter. Stacked using AutoStakkert 3. Both the anchor analysis box and the alignment point box were sized and located to just contain the comet and no stars.

Seen here close to the 15.1 magnitude galaxy UGC 3749. Lx200 at f6.3, Atik 314L+ and red filter. Taken 22:00 on 06/04/2020

Comet C/2019 Y4 (ATLAS). This image was taken with LX200 at f6.3. 4×5 minutes each of RGB channels.

Comet C/2019 Y4 (ATLAS). This image was taken with LX200 at f3.3. 3×3 minutes of RGB channels.

Comet P41/Tuttle-Giacobini
An animation of 90 seconds exposures with LX200 at f3.3 on 04/04/2017.

Asteroid 2003 YT1
Asteroid 2003 YT1 passes about 3 million miles from the Earth. This is a 90 second exposure with the Canon 450D at ASA1600 and LX200 at f6.3.I could just see it with an 18mm eyepiece and I estimated its magnitude as equal to TYC 4621 1231 at 11.35. The faint galaxy in this image is NGC1544.

Comet Catalina C/2013 US10
32×1 minute exposure with the Skywatcher and Canon 450 at AS800.

Reprocessed with StarTools

Comet Panstarrs (C2011/L4)
This image was taken on 03/04/2013 at around 9pm. It is a stack of 32×15 second exposures with a Canon 450D at ASA800 and a Skywatcher 80. I also used darks and flats and processed the results in Deep Sky Stacker. After that I did a bit of brightness/contrast/intensity adjustment in Corel Photo-Paint
Earlier on 13/03/13 I took these images with the Canon and a 70mm ETX
This is a crop of a wider field image which does have a lot of vignetting
Comet Ison
Comet Ison was expected to be bright enough to be seen with the naked eye from November to January 2014. Unfortunately it didn’t survive a close encounter with the Sun.
17/02/2013 comet Ison is 600Mkm from the Earth at magnitude 15.7 or so and RA7h00m13s +31d44m9s.
